Garrett County Public Schools Unveils Three-Year Strategic Plan Aligned with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future

Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) is pleased to announce the completion of its comprehensive three-year strategic plan, developed in alignment with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. Covering the 2024-2025 through 2026-2027 school years, this strategic plan will serve as a roadmap to strengthen and enhance educational opportunities for all students. The Board of Education approved the plan during the January 2025 meeting.

The plan is designed to address the Blueprint’s five key focus areas:

  • Early Childhood Education
  • High-Quality and Diverse Teachers and Leaders
  • College and Career Readiness
  • Increased Resources to Ensure Student Success
  • Governance and Accountability

Through extensive collaboration with stakeholders, GCPS has identified three overarching priority areas that will guide the school system’s efforts:

  • Staffing
  • High-Quality Instruction
  • Partnerships
