Garrett County Public Schools to Administer Behavioral Health Screener

Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) will administer a Behavioral Health Screener to all students, from Pre-K through 12th grades, starting this year as part of our approved Strategic Plan, which is aligned with the Blueprint from Maryland’s Future.

The screener is designed to help students reflect on their experiences at school, including how they feel about their classroom environment, their interactions with peers and teachers, and the overall school climate. It’s a short survey that should take no more than 10 minutes to complete for students in grades 3 through 12. For students in grades Pre-K to 2, the teacher will complete the Behavioral Health Screener.

The results of this screener will provide important insights into how students are experiencing school and how we can improve to meet their needs better. If a student is unsure about any question, they will have the option to skip it.

For more details about the screener, please refer to the information flyer.
