Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) is excited to announce the release of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) results. The report contains school-level data that shows significant progress in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics proficiency in multiple schools. Four of our schools have been ranked among the top fifty most improved schools in the state of Maryland. The data reveals that Broad Ford Elementary has shown the most improvement in Math proficiency out of ALL Maryland schools. Northern Garrett High School is now the fourth highest in ELA proficiency improvement out of all schools. Additionally, Crellin Elementary has also shown significant improvement in Math proficiency, and Northern Garrett Middle School has shown significant improvement in ELA proficiency, each ranking in the top fifty schools.

The Maryland Report Card provides detailed information on each school’s performance, including test scores, graduation rates, and other indicators. The report card serves as an important tool for parents, educators, and community members to assess the quality of education offered by each school.

“We are thrilled to see the progress made by our students in MCAP,” said Dr. Brenda McCartney, Interim Superintendent of Garrett County Public Schools. “We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and these results demonstrate that our efforts are paying off.”

GCPS remains dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. We congratulate our students, staff, and families on this achievement and look forward to continued success in the future.
