Garrett County Health Department Home Health Receives 2025 HHCAHPS Honors Status for Exceptional Patient Care

Garrett County Health Department Home Health is proud to announce that it has been named a 2025 HHCAHPS Honors recipient by MatrixCare, a leading provider of revenue cycle management services, CAHPS surveys, and advanced analytics for home health and hospice organizations. This marks the second consecutive year the agency has received this prestigious recognition for excellence in patient experience and quality of care.

The HHCAHPS Honors program recognizes top-performing home health agencies based on patient satisfaction scores from the Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS) survey. These nationally standardized surveys measure patients’ experiences with care, communication, and overall satisfaction.

MatrixCare evaluates participating agencies using 19 quality indicator measures. Performance scores are calculated from completed patient surveys and compared, question by question, to national benchmarks derived from data across the MatrixCare Home Health CAHPS database. Agencies earning HHCAHPS Honors must score above the national benchmark on at least 85 percent of evaluated measures.

Garrett County Health Officer Jennifer Hare attributed the recognition to the department’s unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

“Our staff truly care about their patients and work collaboratively with each individual’s medical team to achieve meaningful recovery goals,” said Hare. “This award reflects their dedication, compassion, and professionalism.”
