All of us in the lake area are familiar with the growing issue of the Garrett County Black Bear population looking for food in residential garbage facilities. Different communities have taken varying approaches to controlling access. One of the local refuse collection services is now offering trash lockers making it more difficult for bears to enter residential trash containers. Other providers may also offer solutions.
