Garrett County Public High School’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team #1629, GaCo, will hold a telethon on Saturday, September 2, 2023. It will be live-streamed via YouTube.
The telethon will start at 7:00 AM and continue until 11:29 PM, for 16 hours and 29 minutes, in recognition of the team’s official number, 1629. During the telethon, GaCo will be reminiscing, celebrating its 19-year history, and kicking off its Fall Fundraising Campaign.
A team spokesperson said, “We are so grateful to Railey Realty for hosting our telethon and making the first $1,629 donation towards our Fall Campaign.” The team’s fundraising goal is $16,290, which will help meet the team’s expenses for its 20th season. Donations and pledges or any amount are greatly appreciated, whether one-time or ongoing.
