GaCo, Garrett County’s FIRST LEGO League Team 1629, has released information for its 2025 Summer Tech Camps. There are two different camps, one for students in grades 3-5 and one for students in grades 1-2 (based on the 2024-25 school year).
The camps for students in grades 3-5 will have two different sessions. July 1-3 at Broad Ford School and August 19-21 at Northern Middle School. Students will build and code LEGO machines to perform specific tasks. The camp will feature the new LEGO SPIKE Prime and LEGO Mindstorms robotics platforms. Both sessions will meet Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The camp for students in grades 1-2 will have one session from July 1-3, at Broad Ford School. This session will run 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Students will use LEGO Simple Machines Mini Sets to build simple machines to perform specific tasks. Parents are invited to volunteer for the week to work with the students as they work through their projects.
All camps will be limited to approximately twenty (20) students each and will be offered on a “first come, first served” basis. The tuition for each camp is $75/per person.
