The weather for the weekend will be mostly sunny, with a high near 79 and a low around 54. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. A chance of showers this evening. Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 64 and a low around 53. Sunday will have a chance of showers, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59 and a low around 52.

The Kitzmiller Farmers Market at The Park is where the community meets every Friday from 4:00pm – 6:30pm. Kitzmiller Farmers Market is a producer’s only market with various products available each week. It’s a nice drive down there to a part of the county that many visitors don’t experience.

The Swan Meadow School Harvest Sale takes place Friday evening from 5:00pm – 7:30pm at the Pleasant Valley Community Center. Sounds like a nice time!

There’s an Old-Fashioned Community Picnic open to all at Broadford Park from 1:00pm – 5:00pm this Sunday with music and free meat and drinks provided (bring a covered dish). RSVPs are needed, please respond by phone to (301) 501-0693 or by email to gcdemclub@gmail.com.

Did you know about the new federal law effective today (9/21) that gives consumers the right to place a freeze on their credit reports and temporarily or permanently remove the freeze without charge? With all the cyber crime in Maryland and nationally, this is good to know and Maryland’s attorney general has issued a press release on it with more information.

The seasons are changing and the Department of Natural Resources has issued its first Fall foliage and festival report for this weekend. We can’t wait for the wonderful fall foliage in Garrett County and, of course, Autumn Glory.

The Maryland Department of Commerce has announced that it is offering a tax credit for investments in cyber security companies. This is a big industry nationally and in Maryland and I would love to see some more cyber-related jobs in Garrett County.
