Friday, October 25, Saturday October 26, Sunday October 27

The weather for the weekend will be a mixed bag: Friday will be partly sunny, with a high near 58 and a light west wind. Saturday will be cooler, windy and with rain likely, especially after 2:00 pm. Sunday has an 80% chance of showers, mainly before 2:00 pm. Check out our weather page for the full story and forecast.

There are many leaves still hanging on the trees all around the lake.  We are a bit past peak but there are some beautiful sights around the lake and all around the mountain.  Here’s a great photo submitted by Clinton Bradley from Accident-Friendsville Road near the library.  Thanks Clinton!

Fall in Garrett County

While we may be a bit past peak, but still very nice foliage-wise, here’s a state foliage map for this weekend should you be inclined to take a drive up to the lake or down the mountain:

What are the safest cities in Maryland you ask?  Well here’s a link to a recent report.  Frostburg came in at number four.  I am sure some of Garrett County’s cities and towns would be listed, but I am guessing they were too small.

Here’s an interesting event commemorating the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, scheduled for this Saturday, sent courtesy of Judy Carbone and the AAUW:

Unique Event this Saturday

There’s a ton of stuff going on in the area this weekend.  Events include high school football, trick/trunk or treat, great music at a few local venues, a craft show and the farmers market down in Oakland.  Check these and other events out on our Deep Creek Times Events section, and have some fun.

Have a great fall weekend folks!
