Today will be partly sunny, with a high near 70 and a low around 60. Tomorrow will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm; high near 76 and a low of 59. Sunday is a greater chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 73 and a low around 59. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

We just received this yesterday but wanted to get it in this edition even if timing is tight. There’s a Manufacturing Job Fair at Allegany College this morning (Friday) for hiring companies and prospective employees to meet.

After the Job Fair, you can stop in at the Allegany Arts Council’s Schwab Gallery to check out some great watercolors as part of the 30th annual Western Maryland Watercolor Society exhibit.

The National Road “yART” Sale in Grantsville is this Saturday from 8:00am – 3:00pm.  If you have some unwanted art or other (non-clothing) items the Garrett County Arts Council will come by and pick it up this Saturday. Call them Friday to arrange pickup.

The Mountain Fresh Farmers Market “Mother’s Day Market” (last winter market of the season) will be held this Saturday at the Community Action Center building on Center Street in Oakland from 11:00am – 1:00pm.

Come have fun and help a young one and his family in need on Saturday. Bentley was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2015 and after being cancer-free, a second tumor has emerged. There’s a Disney Character parade and then a spaghetti dinner fundraiser in Downtown Oakland on Saturday starting at 3:00pm.

There’s some other good music in town this weekend at MoonShadow in McHenry.

Smiley’s Fun Zone is holding Season Pass Saturday with a live broadcast by WQZK from 3pm-6pm on Saturday.
