According to the Garrett County Health Department, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Garrett County nor Maryland (at this time).
Western Maryland Health System is now UPMC Western Maryland, merging into the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center hospital network.
The Oakland Town Council has given approval for the construction of new mountain bike trails in Broadford Park. The Garrett County Composite Mountain Biking Team made the proposal to the Town so the team could fundraise for the estimated $150,000 it would take to build the trails.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources seeks public comment on the proposed 2021 fiscal year work plan for Potomac Garrett, Green Ridge, Savage River, Chesapeake and Pocomoke State Forests. Annual work plans help identify priorities within the scope of the forest’s long-range management plan. The comment period ends on February 28, 2020.
