Free Workshop to Empower Outdoor Entrepreneurs November 14

The Frostburg Outdoor Recreation Economy Institute (FOREI), Sarah Myers Marketing, and the Garrett College Outdoor Leadership & Adventure Education (OLA) program will host a free Outdoor Entrepreneurship Workshop on Friday, November 14 from 1:00–5:00 PM at the CAOS Building, 131 Laker Drive, McHenry.

Designed for aspiring and existing business owners, the 4-hour session provides real-world tools to launch, grow, or diversify a business in the outdoor industry. Topics include entrepreneurial thinking, core values, marketing foundations, and the role of service in business success.

Jodi from the Maryland Small Business Development Center will also present local resources and next-step support for small businesses.

“Western Maryland’s outdoor economy is full of opportunity,” said Sarah Myers, workshop facilitator. “This class helps students learn how to think like an entrepreneur, find local resources, and build a business around what we all love: the outdoors. Of course, we will also talk about marketing for existing businesses.”

The workshop is free but space is limited.
