Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students from both Northern and Southern Garrett High Schools visited the Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland campus on March 1st. Students began the day with a tour of the main campus where they learned about the different majors available as well as specific programs and opportunities that the college offers to ensure student success. Students were able to get the full college experience when they were invited to sit in on an economics class instructed by Robin Imgrund. The group was provided a boxed lunch catered by Metz Culinary in the new Thomas Welcome Center located in the center of campus. After lunch, students attended a presentation by College Recruiter Courtney Jensen on the highlights of attending Allegany College. Robin Imgrund then led a fun and interactive business activity with the students. The day concluded with a tour of the Willowbrook Woods student housing options. Students were accompanied by Southern High business teacher Maria Zumpano and career coaches Mary Keller and Jon Hinebaugh. The group wishes to thank ACM for the informative day and for providing transportation and lunch.
