Celebrate a milestone of over $2 million raised for local children at the 15th Annual WGW Community Youth Cup! This exciting two-day event kicks off with a special dinner on Thursday, August 27, 2026, followed by the premier Golf Tournament on Friday, August 28, 2026. Every swing and ticket purchased directly funds vital local initiatives like Landon's Library, Samantha Funding the Arts, and the Andrew S. Woods Memorial Scholarship. Supporters can head over to www.wgwgolf.org to register to golf, buy dinner tickets, or become a sponsor to help build brighter futures for the community's youth.

Looking for a fun group activity that also helps the community? Deep Creek Pottery invites you to gather your friends, coworkers, or club and make an empty bowl to help fight hunger in Garrett County. Gather a group of at least 6 people. Cost is $10-$15 per person. Set up a time that works for your group, and bring snacks and wine if you'd like. Make a bowl using pinch, coil, or slab techniques under the guidance of a skilled potter -- or paint an already-fired bowl with help from the instructor. Your bowls will be fired, finished, and donated to the Empty Bowls Dinner this fall, which raises funds to fight food insecurity in Garrett County. Go home knowing your group did something good for the community while having fun together. The Empty Bowls Dinner will be held on September 20, 2026, at Wisp Resort for the benefit of Garrett County Community Action Food Security Programs.
