The Garrett County Commission for Women is proud to recognize Emily Newman-Edwards as a 2025 Hall of Fame honoree!
The Hall of Fame Award is presented to a woman who has made substantial or outstanding contributions to Garrett County’s economic, political, and cultural life. Nominees are women who serve as role models for tomorrow’s female leaders. These women represent Garrett County’s past, present, and future vision.
Emily is the director of operations for the Fronterra Group, overseeing various businesses in the Town of Grantsville, and is also the first female Mayor of the Town of Grantsville. She does all of this while also raising four young children. In addition to being Mayor, Emily is also the former President of the Grantsville Greater Business Association, Vice President of the Grantsville Revitalization Organization, a Founding Board Member and President of the Grantsville Arts and Entertainment District, Board Member of the Spruce Forest Artisan Village, Organizer of the National Road Festival, and Board Member of the Garrett County Arts Council. In the past, she has been a Board Member of the Garrett Lakes Art Festival. Not only that, but she is an active member of the PTO of Grantsville Elementary and is organizer of the Girl Scouts of America in Grantsville.
Emily will be honored at the Hall of Fame breakfast scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at Ace’s Run.
