Tiffany Keller, school outreach specialist with the Dove Center, is the recipient of the 2025 Garrett College Board of Trustees Award for Outstanding Contributions.
Jason Rush, chair of GC’s Board of Trustees, said the Board voted unanimously to recognize Keller for “working tirelessly to support our students and create a safe, nurturing environment.”
“She ably represents the Dove Center in its important community work supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault,” Rush said of Keller, who was honored last Thursday at Garrett College during the Dove Center’s annual Consent Revolution. That event, which Keller spearheads, promotes consent in healthy relationships as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The Board Award resolution recognized Keller for becoming “an integral part of the College experience for many Garrett College students through her weekly on-campus counseling hours and operation of the Dove Center’s information table.”
Keller said she feels fortunate to be able to participate in the important work of the Dove Center.
“To be able to do work every day that is needed, meaningful, and could change the trajectory of a person’s life is the greatest honor anyone could be given,” said Keller, who has been with the Dove Center for three years.
“From her first day, you could just tell her heart was in this work,” Heather Hanline, executive director of the Dove Center, said of Keller. “It’s her passion. She’s always looking for new ways to engage with young people.”
Keller recognized those who came before her as well as her colleagues at the Dove Center.
“I am surrounded by people that paved the way for this work to be done,” said Keller, “and it’s so wonderful to be following in their footsteps.”
Janis Bush, GC’s director of human resources, said Keller has become an important part of the College’s support system.
“Tiffany brings her kindness and compassion, coupled with her knowledge, to give our students the help and support they need,” said Bush. “Students not only participate in her weekly activities; they seek her out for guidance. I personally look forward to seeing her every Thursday.”
GC Director of Institutional Compliance Shelley Menear, who works closely with Keller developing supportive activities for the College’s students, praised Keller’s commitment to providing educational tools that help students in practical ways.
“Tiffany brings a compassionate professionalism that raises awareness around a difficult but prevalent subject matter, especially for college students,” said Menear. “She has established a great rapport with students and staff alike. Her thoughtfulness and smile make her approachable, and students are more apt to engage in what are often difficult conversations.”
