Deep Creek Lake Daily Notes Blog March 30

The weather today will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds of around 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. The chance of rain is 50%.

Pitch in and help get the Pump Track ready to open! The Deep Creek Lake Lion’s Club will be on-site April 2 at 4:00 PM, doing hands-on work like digging drainage, shaping rollers, and building berms, bring your own shovel or rake if you have one, or use the tools provided, and water will be available.

Mark your calendars for the Boat Parade on Deep Creek Lake on June 27 from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM, starting at Silver Tree Marina in McHenry Cove, where decorated boats will pass judging stations as spectators vote for their favorites before returning at dusk with lighted displays; entry requires a minimum $50 registration fee with limited spots, benefiting Blind Skier and Camper Programs, while nonprofit organizations can participate for free and keep their fundraising, with voting available in cash along the route or online.

Firewater Kitchen + Bar is located on the shore of Deep Creek Lake at its widest point, offering great views, craft cocktails, and an eclectic menu, along with the only dockside dining experience on the lake, with reservations available online.

Military March is wrapping up at Mountain State Brewing Co. in Deep Creek Lake, and active-duty and veteran service members can still receive 30% off their check (excluding alcohol) through the end of the month.

Easter Photo Sessions at Smoke N Mirrors Photography offer a $35 package with a 20-minute appointment and a 5×7 matted print, designed for kids with a quick, relaxed experience where you choose your photo on the spot, with retakes available if needed, and leave with your finished picture in hand.

Full Moon Hike takes place tonight at 8:15 PM, featuring a 1-mile guided walk with Ranger Noah under the “Pink Moon,” the first full moon of spring, starting at the Lake House; bring a flashlight or headlamp, and note that the event is weather-dependent.

Jay Ferguson – Real Estate Market Update March 28

Jay Ferguson – Real Estate Market Update March 17 (Deep Creek Lake, MD)

MARCH MADNESS! Lots of activity so far this month but first, GET A SECOND OPINION if you are in the market to buy or sell or even vacation rentals. Everyone has an opinion…and an angle. Myself included. I’m conservative with pricing by nature but also optimistic when I see something special or rare circumstances. That combination has served me well over the years. Ideally you want an agent who will ‘tell it like it is’ rather than tell you what you want to hear. I would love an opportunity to BE THAT GUY for you. Our market has cooled off a little bit with recent world events, wobbly stock market and rising interest rates. I saw it last year around this time, as well, when our market was affected by tariffs and the layoffs of federal workers. It all matters in a market like ours, where its a WANT to have a lake property – not a NEED. There is some great value out there right now and plenty of overpriced homes still trying to find their floor. I have several new construction homes – by one of the most reputable builders in the area, Lyv Homes – in and around Oakland and the golf course. Sweet properties with modern designs, truly unique. They will be working on lake house soon at Stilwater, so stay tuned for that or let me know if you want some inside info on upcoming projects!

Keep in the loop with some of my buyer tools like auto email updates, custom searches and disclosure files for ANY and EVERY listed property for sale. If you need information on anything real estate related, I’m your guy 🙂
