The weather today will be mostly sunny. A chance of showers in the afternoon, with highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds of around 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. The chance of rain is 40%.

As of March 9, Maryland Department of Natural Resources crews stocked 9,075 trout. In Garrett County, locations stocked included Casselman River (delayed harvest) with rainbow trout; Little Youghiogheny River, Muddy Creek, North Branch Potomac River at Gorman, Parkview Pond, Snowy Creek, and Youghiogheny River in Oakland, all with golden and rainbow trout.

Garrett County kicked off its Garrett 250 celebration with the Birthday Bash: Celebrating America Together reception at Ace’s Run Restaurant & Pub. Tickets are still available for River City Brass at the Performing Arts Center on March 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30 for adults, and students and kids are free with a paying adult.

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the 2026 Autumn Glory King and Queen. Garrett County high school juniors entering their senior year in fall 2026 may apply by submitting a 300-word essay through the 59th Annual Autumn Glory Festival page on visitdeepcreek.com. One male and one female student will be selected to represent the festival at community events and will receive an educational contribution. Applications are due April 24, 2026. The 59th Annual Autumn Glory Festival will be held October 7–11, 2026.
