A survey of 3,004 drivers reveals the three most avoided winter roads in Maryland, with I-70 between Hagerstown and Hancock ranked as the most avoided. The findings highlight how winter conditions cause drivers to change routes due to stress and unpredictable road conditions, not just closures.

The Maryland State Board of Education approved Garrett County Public Schools’ use of February 16 (Presidents’ Day), April 6 (Easter Monday), and June 5 as make-up days. Any additional weather-related closures will extend the school year.
