Wednesday, May 17, 2023: Are there any ladies who would like to try trail / mountain biking tonight? I am organizing an easy, casual ride. Meet at Broadford Park (near the boat launch) at 5:15pm and we will get on the trail at 5:30pm.

The weather today will be mostly sunny, with highs in the lower 60s and a low of 37. Northwest winds around 10 mph. The chance of rain is 25%.

Yough Glades Elementary’s 5th-grade students continued their participation in the Trout in the Classroom program this year. They gained hands-on experience in hatching and raising rainbow trout, as well as releasing them into a thriving river system.

As boating season ramps up, Maryland urges waterway users to stay safe.Given the importance of waterway recreation in our area, consider participating in Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day on May 19 and encourage waterway users to make the most of their adventure by being responsible.

A public meeting on the Arrowhead Cove Pilot Dredging Project is on May 24, 2023, at Garrett College GIEC Room #111 at 6:00 PM. Consider attending in-person or via zoom.

Tonight at 5:00 PM, as part of the Grantsville National Road Festival, enjoy dinner alongside a National Road history presentation by Frank Walizer, a US Marine Corps veteran, and French & Indian War re-enactor (tickets are $45). Stick around for a bonfire and picking jam session led by Snaggy Mountain Slackards. This free event, sponsored by Grantsville Arts & Entertainment District, welcomes all.
