March 31, 2023: Today is one of my favorite days and I didn’t even know it — today is national Tater Day! Potatoes are the number one consumed vegetable in the United States and one of my favorite foods!

The weather today will have a chance of rain showers in the morning, then rain showers in the afternoon— highs in the lower 60s and a low of 50. Southwest winds of around 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Saturday will be showers, mainly in the morning. Very windy, with highs in the lower 60s and a low of 25. Temperature falling into the lower 50s in the afternoon. Southwest winds of around 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, increasing to west 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph in the afternoon. Sunday will be sunny, and breezy, with highs in the mid-40s and a low of 33.

It’s no foolin’ — docks can go back into Deep Creek Lake tomorrow!

The 2023 Master Gardener morning program is underway or you can take advantage of the one-week training from April 24 to April 28, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

This Saturday at 2:00 PM, the Crellin United Methodist Church is hosting its Annual Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny in attendance! Children aged from baby to 5 will hunt inside, while children aged from 6-12 will search outside. There will also be a telling of the Easter story and extra prizes inside the church after the hunt.

Springs Mennonite Church is hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday that will take place rain or shine! Egg hunt activities start at 4:00 PM.

Bring the kids this Sunday for the Easter Egg Hunt at Deer Park VFW Post #10077  from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, where they can enjoy refreshments and prizes!
