Friday, March 28, Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, 2025: Expect a mix of clouds and showers in McHenry, Maryland, this weekend. Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of passing showers, with highs around 60°F and lows near 53°F. Saturday brings warmer temperatures, reaching 70°F, with partly sunny skies and breezy conditions. Sunday will be the warmest at 75°F, but overcast skies and passing showers are expected.

GaCo secures another win at its second qualifier and earns the Autonomous Award! Competing at Blacksburg High School from March 21-23, the team finished on the first-ranked alliance, winning the event and earning 71 district points toward the 2025 Chesapeake District Championship.

Shakespeare season is here in Garrett County! A group reading of A Midsummer Night’s Dream takes place this Saturday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Participants get a classics button and a chance to win Stage West tickets and Shakespeare bust bookends.

The Garrett Jazz Ensemble hosts a swing dance Saturday from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Garrett College’s Performing Arts Center. Live big-band music from the ’30s and ’40s, plus vocalists Debi Beachy and Dave Callis. Admission by donation to benefit Cindy’s Fund; drinks and snacks for sale.
