Monday June 26, 2023: What a weekend! I’d love to see your photos of lake life, Grantsville Days, Maryland Lacrosse Tournament, Keira’s Day in the Park, and all the other fun things!!

The weather today will be partly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, then showers and thunderstorms likely this afternoon—highs in the upper 70s and a low of 60. Southwest winds of around 10 to 15 mph. The chance of rain is 70%.

The Maryland State Board of Education public meeting will convene tomorrow, June 27, at 9:00 AM at the Maryland State Department of Education. Public comment registration for the meeting opened last week and closes today at 3:00 PM.

The Garrett County Health Department is hosting a day-long training today by trauma expert Lisa Ferentz from The Ferentz Institute. The training will focus on essential steps in trauma-informed care and include creative treatment strategies and self-care for helping professionals.
