HART for Animals receives a 2024 grant from the Maryland Department of Agriculture for the Spay and Neuter Program, marking the ninth consecutive year. The grant will support HART’s Lifesaver program, offering 48 dogs and 105 cat spays/neuters. Low-income residents in Garrett and Allegany Counties can schedule appointments by calling 301-387-7729.

Maryland Forest Service offers a $4.8 million federal grant program for urban and community forestry projects. Apply by March 15 for awards ranging from $5,000 to $200,000 across three tracks. The second application window opens in the summer for flexibility.
