January 12, 2023: Garrett 8 Cinemas has two movies with a little hype playing at the Lake this weekend. A Man Called Otto is an American adaptation of the Swedish novel by Fredrik Backman. I saw the Swedish version of the film in 2015 and it was very good. The two versions of the movie are similar, but, from the start, the American adaptation keeps the motivations of the main character hidden. Also, The Whale movie (about a reclusive teacher attempting to reunite with his daughter) will open tomorrow. I’m going to try to see both of these!
