On December 21st, fifty families received Harvest Hub meal boxes at the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department, boosting food security for the holidays. Each box featured an 8–10 pound ham, potatoes, milk, and essentials for a festive dinner, plus breakfast items and ingredients for hearty ham and bean soup. Recipes and instructional videos were included to help families prepare their meals.

ELEVATE is a paid summer internship for Appalachian students and recent grads to build connections, gain career skills, and engage with local economic partners. From June 2 to July 25, 2025, up to four interns will work with ARC staff in business, infrastructure, technical assistance, or legal divisions. Interns receive pay, housing at a D.C. university, commuting benefits, and explore D.C. landmarks. Applications are open for summer 2025 – apply by February 28, 2025!

The Joy of Christmas Light Show at the Oakland Community Center runs daily from 5:00 PM until January 1, 2025, with shows starting at the top of each hour and the last show at 9:00 PM.
