DCL100 Birthday Bash Plans Dazzling Drone Display

Get ready for a night to remember as Deep Creek Lake marks its 100th birthday with a cutting-edge drone show. This Saturday, July 19, 2025, join your neighbors and friends at the Garrett County Fairgrounds for the DCL 100 Birthday Bash! Activities run all afternoon, and just before the event wraps up, look skyward at 9:30 pm for a dazzling light display that bridges a century of memories with tomorrow’s technology.

The Firefly Drone Show will now feature 300 illuminated drones, choreographed to music and programmed with animations that celebrate Deep Creek Lake’s history and community spirit. Watch these lights form everything from simple shapes to more complex symbols, all moving in sync above the fairgrounds.

This drone show is eco-friendly with no smoke or debris, silent and smooth choreography and a modern twist on classic fireworks, without the noise or pollutants that is a first for the Deep Creek Lake area!

When the show begins, the drones will lift off in tight formations and shift through a repertoire of patterns that honor 100 years of lakeside life. Expect moments of symmetry, brief nods to lake icons, and surprising transitions that highlight the precision behind each flight plan.

Admission for the entire Birthday Bash is just $0.25 per person, making it easy for families and friends to come together for a full day of fun—history exhibits, local vendors, live music, a kids’ zone, and a biergarten. All capped off with this one-of-a-kind drone spectacle!

Bring a blanket or lawn chair, grab a spot on the grass, and share the moment with everyone around you. Whether you’ve lived here for decades or you’re visiting for the first time, this drone show is the perfect way to celebrate a landmark birthday for Deep Creek Lake. Don’t miss it!
