Deep Creek Times has announced a generous donation of $1,000 to Just In Power Kids; a Maryland charity to support kids going through cancer treatments. This donation was partially funded by the sales of the Just Incredible Deals Discount Cards, featuring offers from beloved Deep Creek Lake area businesses.

Kicking Off the Maryland Trek at Deep Creek Lake
The Maryland Trek is an inspiring 7-day, 329-mile hike and bike event across Maryland. Deep Creek Times supported day one of the Trek as it begins an annual journey on the summit of Wisp Mountain at Deep Creek Lake. This unique and challenging endurance event, which mirrors the resilience of children undergoing cancer treatments, is a fundraiser for Just In Power Kids.
Empowering Children with Just In Power Kids
Just In Power Kids, co-founded by meteorologist Justin Berk, focuses on empowering children battling cancer. The organization partners with holistic practitioners to offer integrative therapies and supportive care alongside medical treatment. The organization also provides informative workshops and various programs to support children and their families during their cancer journey.
Looking Ahead: Next Summer’s Campaign
While this year’s Just Incredible Deals Discount Cards are now fully distributed, Deep Creek Times is excited to announce that plans are already underway for next summer’s campaign. The community can look forward to another round of fantastic offers and opportunities to support local businesses and this charitable cause in the summer of 2024.
“The success of the Just Incredible Deals Discount Cards and the support from local businesses like Lakeside Creamery, Copper Kettle Popcorn Factory, and others have been overwhelming. We are proud to contribute to Just In Power Kids and support their incredible work,” said Sarah Myers, owner of Deep Creek Times.
