Commissioners Appoint Dr. Jane Wildesen to Elected Board of Education

The Board of Garrett County Commissioners appointed Dr. Jane Wildesen to the at-large seat on the Garrett County Board of Education, filling the vacancy created by Matthew Trezise’s resignation.

After reviewing letters of interest, the Commissioners selected Dr. Wildesen to serve the remainder of the term through December 2028, in accordance with the Maryland Education Code.

Dr. Wildesen has more than 35 years with Garrett County Public Schools, most recently retiring as Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations. Her experience spans PreK–12 instruction, school and district leadership, and state policy work. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University, a M.A. in Special Education from West Virginia University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Frostburg State University.
