26th Annual Maryland State Police & Natural Resources Police Deep Creek Dunk

The MSP/NRP Deep Creek Dunk’s events will include Cool Schools and Community Dunk on Thursday, February 20th. Goosebumps, Grapes, and Growlers will be held on Friday, February 21st. The main Saturday Dunk is being held on Saturday, February 22nd. All events will be held at the Uno’s and Honi Honi on Deep Creek Lake and will all benefit Special Olympics Maryland – Garrett County programming.

WHO- Brave Dunkers take a dip into the frozen Deep Creek Lake in support of Special Olympics Maryland – Garrett County

WHAT- The Maryland State Police/Natural Resources Police will host the 26th Deep Creek Dunk on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland, benefiting Special Olympics Maryland – Garrett County. With events all week leading up to the Saturday Dunk.

Starting Thursday, February 20th at 11:00 AM, Cool Schoolers from Garrett County Public Schools, Northern and Southern Middle and High Schools, will take to the lake for the 5th year to raise money for their Unified Champion Schools programming during the Cool Schools Dunk. That evening, local dunkers will take a daring dip into Deep Creek Lake at the 2nd annual Community Dunk. Friday, February 21st, will be the annual Goosebumps, Grapes, and Growlers wine and beer tasting event, where a $20 donation to Special Olympics Maryland will give participants an evening of tastings and live music. Taking us to the main Saturday Dunk, where more than 400 participants from across the state will take a dunk into the chilly waters of Deep Creek Lake to raise funds for Special Olympics Maryland. All funds raised over the week will benefit the Special Olympics Maryland – Garrett County athletes and Unified teammates.

Registration is now open at DunkMD.com. Participants must raise a minimum of $75 in pledges and will receive a commemorative event sweatshirt, a food coupon provided by Uno’s Pizzeria and Grill, and the great feeling of freezing their “fur” off for a truly worthy cause.
