Garrett County residents are invited to connect with local law-enforcement officers, first responders, and community-based organizations during the 2026 Garrett County National Night Out. The free community event will take place Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Mountain Fresh pavilion parking lot in Oakland.
National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes positive relationships between public-safety professionals and the people they serve. Families will have an opportunity to meet local and state police officers, explore emergency vehicles and learn more about community programs and resources in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
The evening will feature free food, family-friendly activities, inflatables, giveaways and opportunities to interact with police officers, first responders and community partners. Representatives from participating public-safety agencies and the Garrett County Health Department will also be on hand.
“This event is an opportunity for residents and public-safety professionals to get to know one another outside. of an emergency,” said Chelsie Dever, MBA, Director of the Garrett County Health Department’s Health Education Outreach Unit. “We encourage families from throughout Garrett County to join us for an evening of food, fun and community connection.”
