DESCRIPTION:Music at Penn Alps is pleased to present the Sylvan Waters Duo for our next concert for 2026. The concert will be at the handicap-accessible Village Chapel in the Spruce Forest Village in Grantsville\, MD\, on July 25 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available for $20 at the door\, in the gift shop at Penn Alps Restaurant\, or online at https://www.musicatpennalps.org/tickets. [Persons 19 and under are admitted free.] \nThe Sylvan Waters Duo is a chamber ensemble formed by the joining of double bassist Raymond Irving with harpist Dr. Tula Ruggiero. \nFor twenty- five years\, Mr. Irving toured the country and the world in the United States Army Field Band. He now holds the positions of Principal Bass with the Prince George’s Philharmonic and Shippensburg Orchestra. \nDr. Ruggiero is Professor of Harp at Shepherd University\, where she teaches college-level harp students. DESCRIPTION:Music at Penn Alps is pleased to present the West Virginia Brass Quintet (WVBQ) on Saturday\, June 20\, at 7:00 PM in the Chapel at Spruce Forest. The Chapel is handicapped-accessible and is located in the same complex as the Great Hall\, our normal venue\, on US Route 40 in Grantsville\, MD\, between exits 19 and 22 on I68. \nThe West Virginia Brass Quintet\, formed in June 2009\, is the most exciting chamber ensemble in West Virginia. This versatile group’s repertoire spans five centuries of music\, from Renaissance and Baroque to Contemporary to Dixieland Jazz with an emphasis on traditional American music. With members living more than one hundred and fifty miles apart\, the WVBQ goes to great lengths to sustain their passion for music-making. From their annual Holiday Residency at the famous Greenbrier Resort to Artist Series Concerts at the Tamarack Center in Beckley and Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg to myriad church services\, weddings\, and civic functions\, the West Virginia Brass Quintet has performed extensively throughout the Mountain State and surrounding areas. \nTickets are $20\, with those 19 and under being admitted for free.
