DESCRIPTION:The Garrett County NAACP is hosting a Juneteenth celebration on Friday\, June 19th\, from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. \nThe day begins at the nearby Bethel Center with a performance of spirituals by the Garrett Choral Arts Society. Following the performance\, the event moves to the Leo Martin Memorial Park in Mountain Lake Park for an afternoon of community and culture. \nThe celebration features keynote speaker Carmen Jackson\, historian Karen White\, and local poets. The schedule also includes an African dance class\, an open mic\, food trucks\, and various activities for children\, such as games and face painting. \nThe entire community is invited to attend.
