Last week, news broke about the global IT outage, caused by CrowdStrike (a cyber security company). The company pushed a bad software update, effecting the Windows operating system and resulted in system outages.
No direct impact to First United systems
Many businesses have been impacted, such as airlines, businesses, schools, governments, health care systems, and financial institutions.
Fortunately, First United Bank & Trust has NOT been directly impacted by this outage.
After being alerted to the news, our systems were immediately assessed, along with those of our partners who help us provide important services to you.
There have been various delays as patches are being put into place and there is more stress to systems in general.
While your flight plans may have gotten delayed, your banking services with us have not. We remain online and available to you, operating under normal conditions at this time.
