St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Parish will hold a “League” meeting on Sunday, February 23, at 2:00 PM in St. Peter's Parish Center Hall, located at 208 S. Fourth St., Oakland, MD. Limited to the first 20 pre-registered participants, this unique program provides a structured way to read the entire Bible by the end of Lent. Each participant will read assigned passages, covering 1/20th of the Bible, and write a short reflection each week. While this isn't about football, the draft-style approach offers a clever "game plan" for spiritual growth. The league will have only two in-person meetings throughout the entire “season.”

With the passage of the Food Safety and Modernization Act in 2011, at least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under a standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration. On February 27th the University of Maryland and Maryland Department of Agriculture will offer a Produce Safety Grower Training Course which will satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement. The course will be held from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Garrett Colleges CTTC in Accident in room 104. The fee for the training is $45 and will include lunch and materials.
