Check out the schedule for the 2024 Nourishing Neighbors Mobile Market & Resource Exchanges! Food will be distributed beginning at 11:00 AM on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 100 boxes. To receive a box, participants will be asked to complete a screener. Our Outreach Team, along with other Community Partners, will be joining the exchanges to provide health education and connect individuals to needed resources. If any organizations are interested in participating, please reach out to Corey Edmonds, Manager of Business Development & Community Relations at CEdmonds@mtnlaurel.org!
New Germany State Park will host Senior Rangers, a new series of programs designed for adults ages 55+, every Thursday from May 30 through June 27. Programs will include mushroom gardening, fishing, native plant identification, birding, and foraging. The programs are free (supported by the Friends of New Germany State Park), but donations are welcome. Registration is required for each weekly program and space is limited. Join yoga instructor Tina Dick for an hour-long gentle yoga session. This yoga session will take place between the playground and the kayak launch, lakeside, in the Day Use area. Yoga will be free. Simply tell staff upon arriving that you are here for the yoga class. Plan to bring a mat or beach towel to practice on. Blocks will be available for use.

Join Rangers Noah and Hannah from New Germany State Park for a fun-filled afternoon of fishing at the Grantsville Town Pond! This program will be a basic-level introduction to fishing, and all fishing supplies will be provided for you. All fish that are caught, must be released. Please bring sunscreen, and bug spray and come dressed for the weather. Children age 15 and younger do not need a fishing license to participate. The Deep Creek Farmers Market is back for another summer of local fun, food, crafts, and music in 2024! The market will feature local produce, meats, eggs, honey, baked goods, flowers, prepared food, artisan crafts & more. Scott Alexander will be performing from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM! Bring a chair or blanket for the lawn. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverage. The campus has a strict no-alcohol policy.
