Lego Club is designed for children ages 4 and up and features free building time with lots of building bricks. Children are encouraged to build a creation based on a new theme each month. HART for Animals’ Giving Tuesday

Get ready for that time of year again! HART is gearing up for our annual #GivingTuesday fundraiser! On November 28th, right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, let's kick off the holiday season with a spirit of giving back. HART for Animals invites you to join them in making a difference. The ice rink is located in Grantsville Town Park near the Ruth Enlow Library. All sessions are limited on the number of participants so JTF1 encourages you to buy your admissions in advance but drop-ins are also welcome. Public skates are limited to scheduled times. RENTALS The Ice Rink has skates for all sizes, helmets, and skate aids for rent. Skates are $2, helmets are $1, and skate aids are $2. Skate aids are only available for children under 48 inches in height. You can bring your own bike helmet. Helmets are not required but encouraged, especially for beginners. Additionally, if you are renting skates, you are required to wear socks. Please wear full-length socks - footies, ankle socks, etc. are not appropriate to protect your skin in skates. Garrett College’s Financial Aid Office Schedules FAFSA Prep Meetings

The Garrett College Office of Financial Aid has scheduled seven events to assist students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Three of the FAFSA prep meetings are scheduled in the theatre of the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College (September 26th, October 17th, and November 16th). Two will take place at Northern Garrett High (October 10th and November 2nd), and two will take place at Southern Garrett High (October 12th and November 29th). All FAFSA prep meetings will start at 5:00 PM. Andrew Harvey, Garrett College’s director of financial aid, said significant changes have been made to the FAFSA process. “The FAFSA has been redesigned for the first time in 40 years,” said Harvey. “Even parents who have participated in FAFSA information events in the past should attend one of these information meetings so they understand the changes in the process. “If you think you know how to complete a FAFSA – think again,” added Harvey, emphasizing the sweeping changes to the process. Dr. Tim Watkins, Science Access and Engagement Coordinator with the National Park Service (NPS), will present "Parks in Science History," as part of the Lab's Watershed Moments Community Learning Series. From establishing the importance of wetlands to advancing science through the first-ever use of radiocarbon dating, our national parks have been home to a number of landmark scientific studies.
