Trapper Education Course at New Germany State Park

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering a Trapper Education Course on Saturday, November 5, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at New Germany State Park’s Recreation Hall.

Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required by Friday, October 28. Lunch (pizza) will be provided for a $5 fee.

A workbook must also be completed prior to the day of the class.

In order to pass this course and obtain a Maryland trapper certification card, participants must:

1. Bring the completed Maryland Trapper Education Workbook to class for instructor review;
2. Participate in trap handling/field exercises; and
3. Pass a written test (50 questions) with a score of at least 70%.
