The Hospitality Mission Team at Parish Center Hall in Oakland has arranged an all-in-one free training session for parishioners. Training details are as follows:
Garrett County EMS will offer its Stop the Bleed training, a nationally recognized program provided to schools, businesses, churches, and other organizations. This training equips individuals to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. It is intended for the entire congregation, regardless of medical or first-responder experience.
Representatives from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Department will provide Active Assailant training. This session is designed to give greeters, ushers, and other mission team members response options to stay safe during potentially violent encounters. This training is recommended for all parish volunteers who may assist during unexpected emergencies.
While any parishioner who wishes to be better prepared to manage emergency situations is welcome to attend, this training is required for:
