The Scottish Rite Masons are holding a free Childhood Speech and Language Disorders Clinic for children up to 21 years of age that are exhibiting speech or language issues. The Clinic will be held at the Paul B. Naylor Masonic Hall in Oakland today, October 12th, starting at 5:30pm.

The action tonight will be in downtown Oakland! Remember those road closings again … The famous Oktoberfest dinner in the fire hall, The Fireman’s Parade and then the last year of the official “Oompah” band. (Here’s the complete Autumn Glory schedule)

A great Autumn Glory Kickoff Dinner was held last evening at the Garrett County Agriculture Fair Grounds.”Congratulations!” for a great event go to the Chamber and “Way To Go!” to Patty Manown Mash for being named 2017 Golden Ambassador.

In an effort to promote healthy watersheds, the Garrett County Department of Planning & Land Management has prepared a fact sheet outlining some best management practices regarding yard waste. Please take some time to review the information contained on the fact sheet on their site for ideas and tips on managing your yard waste.

The next GOBA meeting is next Tuesday, October 17 @ 8:30am at the Oakland B&O Museum. There will be an update on the search for an Economic Development Director, a representative from Neubeam to discuss broadband options and a representative from the Town will update us on the water/sewer project, parking meter removal, etc.  Please RSVP to Michelle Ross at 301.334.2691.
