The Panorama Motel along Mosser Road is currently being demolished.  Garrett College purchased the site and the land will be part of the new Community Athletic & Recreation Center. Construction is expected to begin in the spring.  The new facility will include indoor swimming pools, indoor tracks, basketball courts, fitness facilities, and physical therapy rooms.

  The Oakland location of Grand Central has closed.  This location will become the Oakland Indoor Flea Market at Grand Central Station. Space will be available for rent to crafters, vendors, local residents, etc. who desire a location to display their merchandise (new or used).    Interested vendors may call 301-334-3006 or 301-334-9515 for more information or to sign up.

  Construction continues on the new Dairy Queen Grill and Chill restaurant set to open in April along Rt. 219.  A Clear Mountain Bank branch office will also be built on this site of the old Roads Department in Oakland.

  The Point View Inn hotel and restaurant is currently being torn down.  No word on the future plans for the property, although it is on the market for sale.

   A new ice skating rink has opened at Wisp Resort near the Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park.    Click here for more information. . 

Site preparation has begun on a new $3 million, 30,000 square foot exhibit hall at the Garrett County fairgrounds. 

  Massage at the Lake has opened a new day spa and beauty salon at the Garden Center Plaza on Rt. 219 at the Sand Flat Road intersection.
