The Garrett County Public School system is conducting a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to assist in the development of a Strategic Plan. The SWOT analysis survey seeks feedback from GCPS staff, parents, and the community regarding the strategic planning for the future success of the school system.

A survey by the National Retail Federation revealed that more people shopped online than in stores during Black Friday weekend last year.  We know many of our readers shop online so we offer these simple tips to ensure your shopping is “safe.”

The Dove Center is hiring a part-time (16-20 hours/week) Crisis Advocate to work directly with clients staying in the domestic violence shelter, and to answer hotline calls. MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD. AA degree in human services related field preferred; intensive training will be provided. Must be very flexible, and able to work various shifts (midnight-8 am, 8 am-4 pm, and 4pm-midnight), weekends, and some holidays. It is crucial that the individual hired is very reliable, as the shelter must be covered 24/7.
